Four quick questions, then your guide's numbers, decoded.
HSA (Health Savings Account): a personal account that pairs with high-deductible plans. Money goes in from your paycheck before taxes, many employers add free money on top, and whatever you don't spend stays yours forever. It even works like a bonus retirement account after 65. You use it to cover bills until your deductible is met.
FSA (Flexible Spending Account): the HSA's stricter cousin: also pre-tax, works with any plan, but it's use-it-or-lose-it: unspent money expires at year's end. Best for costs you know are coming (glasses, dental work).
If your guide includes these, your report explains exactly which ones apply and how to use them.
How do you want to get your numbers in?
Pick your benefits guide PDF. It's read on your own computer. The file is never uploaded anywhere; only its text goes to the decoder.
Most enrollment guides and SBC documents work. Max 25 MB.
Open your benefits guide or PDF, select everything (Ctrl+A), copy it, and paste below. It's read once to pull out the numbers, and nothing is stored.
Checkout opens first; your text waits right here and the decode starts the moment you're back. Takes 1–3 minutes.
Everything below is on each plan's Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC), usually a 2-page grid in your enrollment packet or portal. Enter the numbers for your coverage tier.
